Many small and mid-sized businesses in Colombia use one program to sell, another to invoice, a spreadsheet for inventory and an accountant who gets everything at the end of the month. Each system has its own version of the data, and nobody knows for sure how much was sold today, what's in the warehouse or how much is owed to suppliers.
AndinaPOS was born to fix that: a single cloud system, designed from day one for the reality of Colombian SMEs. It is Datandina's own product and will soon be available to the general public.
The challenge
- Bring daily operations (sales, inventory, purchasing) and the accounting and legal side (electronic invoicing, accounting, payroll) together in one platform.
- Meet DIAN requirements for electronic invoicing, support documents and electronic payroll.
- Work at a real counter: fast with a barcode scanner, with split payments and a ticket printed on the spot.
- Serve many companies at once, each with fully separated data and its own branding.
The solution
We built a modular cloud ERP where each company signs in at its own address (company.andinapos.com) and enables the modules it needs according to its plan.
Point of sale for everyday work
Barcode-driven sales, split payments (cash, Nequi, Daviplata, card and credit), cash register control, returns, supervisor authorization and an 80 mm thermal ticket printed as soon as the sale ends.
DIAN electronic invoicing
Electronic invoices, electronic POS tickets, credit and debit notes and support documents, with testing and production environments, resolution and numbering control, and automatic verification of every document's status.
Inventory, purchasing and manufacturing
Products with bulk import, price lists, warehouses, transfers, and lots traceable to the customer with expiry dates. Purchase orders, goods receipts, accounts payable and a manufacturing module with recipes, production orders, cost centers and standard costing.
Colombian accounting and payroll
Colombian chart of accounts (PUC), general journal and ledger, balance sheet, income statement, bank reconciliation and fixed assets with depreciation. Payroll with social benefits, social security and electronic payroll.
An AI assistant
Every screen has an assistant that explains how to use the system and queries the business's real data: sales, inventory, cash, receivables, accounting or payroll, even with charts. The dashboard also shows where each figure comes from, so owners can trust their numbers.
How we built it
- Multi-company architecture: each company is independent, signs in through its own subdomain and its data is isolated from everyone else's.
- A robust .NET and PostgreSQL backend, with a modern Next.js and React interface designed to work well even on small point-of-sale screens.
- Security by design: per-module and per-role permissions, an audit log, strong passwords, encrypted invoicing credentials and security headers.
- Continuous delivery: every change goes through automated checks before reaching production, and interface tests run after every deployment.
- Built for real users: decisions like printing the ticket instantly or showing a clear notice when the connection fails came from real support cases.
The result
A platform that replaces several programs and spreadsheets with a single system: business owners sell, invoice with the DIAN, control inventory and run accounting and payroll in one place, from any browser.
